Caleb

Now, a bit about Caleb. Here he is on the first day of school (7th grade). It's now the end of the first quarter and he has straight A's. In addition to regular band class, he goes early every Tuesday morning to participate in jazz band. His first concert is tomorrow. For the first time since first grade, Caleb and his best friend, Nate have classes together. I thought they had been put on a special "Do Not Put These Two Together" list.

Here's Caleb, Nate and Caitlyn together at DQ. We would adopt Nate if his parents would let us.

Here's Caleb at the pool this summer. When his hair is wet, we tease him and tell him he looks like a girl.

Caleb is playing fall baseball this year. Unfortunately, all of their team practices are on Sundays so he hasn't been able to go to a single one. We've had to get creative to get in some practice/instruction time. It's been a good experience because the pitcher's mound was moved back 4 feet and the bases have been moved 10 feet in preparation for next summer's season. The extra practice on the "new" field has helped a lot. In his last game, he was pitching and he struck one batter out and he caught and threw the ball for the next two outs.

With two kids playing fall ball, we have 4 games and 2 practices a week. Put that on top of a regular school day and it keeps us pretty busy. I don't know if we'll do it again next year.
