Mom and Dad's Visit #2

Mom and Dad got to experience a typical Saturday at our house. That means running from game to game and lots of driving around. Halle had her first basketball game. Her team is the Thunder Dragons and they are purple. She has been dying to start playing basketball since I registered her back in September. Unfortunately, she was assigned to a team that had requested Sunday practices and games. I contacted the sports director to see if she could switch teams and, luckily she was picked up by this team. She was able to make their last practice back in December and now she has a 30 minute practice followed by a 45 minute game. She was so excited to play but she lost control of her ball during the practice time and that really sent her into a funk. She refused to participate until the second half of the game. Then she did a great job. She even scored the first basket of the game and sent her team on the road to victory. She's a great little athlete. She had had to miss the past two games because they were on Sunday but she'll be ready to play again this weekend.

We left Halle's game and drove to another school for team pictures. We raced back home so Emma could change into her uniform and took her back to the picture-taking school for her team pictures. Then we were off to Emma's game. Emma did a great job with lots of steals and racing the length of the court. Here she is taking a foul shot, which she landed right in the basket.

Caleb got a ride to his game and so we left Emma's game and got to Caleb's game about 15 minutes late. His games are always so exciting. We finally got home around 7pm, quickly heated up some homemade tamales and rested from our busy day.
